I'm happy to see the ''Upasika kaew'' photo in The Nation (Aug 10). The photo reminds me of the fresh and joyful days I spent with my friends at Wat Phra Dhammakaya, Pathum Thani. The ceremony of ''Upasika Kaew'' was so religiously grand that I'll remember for the rest of my life.
It is the best way for a daughter to pay gratitude to her mother (everyday, not only during Mother's Day!) by giving for charity, observing the eight precepts and meditating.
Peace arises form purity. You could witness true purity, both physically and spiritually, if people had gone to the wat on that day.
